Company 5 is the Second Station in Prince George’s County to Acquire a Thermal Imager

Thermal image cameras are a new trend in firefighting. Capitol Heights just became the second station in the county to place a thermal imager in service; Beltsville was the first to purchase a Bullard Thermal Imager. The imager is carried on Truck 5 and is equipt with a transmitter for remote monitoring. A portable TV/VCR and a receiving station are also carried on Truck 5. This will allow incident commanders to monitor activites on the fire ground and provide valuable information for incident critiques.
