Santa Pays an Early Visit to Capitol Heights to Map Out His Route

Just a few days before Christmas, there was a knock at the engine room door. And what did the crew find but a man dressed in red velour. It was our good pal Santa, all cheery and bright, but what was he doing in Capitol Heights on a Thursday night?

Santa wanted to do some pre-planning for his holiday ride. He asked for our help and we accepted with pride.

Santa boarded Engine 52 with his sleigh driver Jimmy and his CHVFD honorary elves Mark and Vivian.

They rode through the town spreading holiday cheer and making sure he could navigate narrow streets with his eight reindeer. He came with a list and he checked it twice; he greeted the people both naughty and nice.

After completing his ride and returning to quarters, it was clear all the citizens were ready in the town on the D.C. border. As he closed his map book and he vanished from sight, he wished us all a good holiday and a quiet night.
