Celebrate Volunteerism & Join a Great Fire Service Family

Attend our CHVFD Recruitment Open House on April 15th

For over a century, the members of the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department have given their time, skills, and dedication to protect the Town of Capitol Heights and surrounding communities. We celebrate our diverse family of volunteers, who bring a variety of skills, experience, and value to our organization. In April, National Volunteer Month, we salute our members, past, present, and future. We invite you to be part of our great fire service family.

On April 15, 2018, you can attend our CHVFD Recruitment Open House from 12:00 – 4:00 pm to learn more about our organization, meet with our volunteers, and find out how you can be part of this great family. For those who are unable to be with us on April 15th, you can get started on our website and sign-up to attend one of our regular company orientations.

There are several ways that you can help keep our community safe including:

• Serving as a Firefighter/EMT
• Serving as an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)
• Serving as an Administrative Member (Helping on Committees and with Community Outreach)

No prior public safety experience is necessary;
all training and equipment will be provided.

National Volunteer Week, established in 1974, recognizes and celebrates those who share their time and talents to support causes and community organizations. Later, April became National Volunteer Month, as part of President George H. W. Bush’s 1000 Points of Light campaign in 1991.
