CHVFD Mourns the Loss of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Noblit

We have just learned that Clarence Noblit passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2002. Clarence was a 10 year life member of the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department and joined the department in 1964.

Company 5 Has a Busy Weekend

On Friday August 23 at 0050 hours a house fire was dispatched for the 900 block of Nova Avenue (Box 5-11). Chief 5a arrived on scene with level one operations with heavy fire to the rear of the house through the roof. The fire was knocked within 15 minutes The fire is still under investigation.

2001 Seagrave Pumper Has Arrived

The new Engine 5-1 was been delivered to the station on December 17, 2001. This 2001 Seagrave will replace the 1986 Seagrave pumper that was in service as Engine 5-1; Old 5-1 will be placed on the county’s reserve fleet.

3-Alarm Blaze Rips Through Bowie Craft Store

On Sunday, November 11, 2001 at approximately 1245 hours a box assignment in Company 43’s area was dispatched to 4511 Mitchellville Road for a reported building fire at the Michael’s Arts and Crafts Store.
