The Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department has been providing service since 1905. The department was incorporated in 1914. We continue to provide dedicated and faithful fire and emergency medical services to the citizens of Capitol Heights and its surrounding communities.

The demand for our services continues to rise each year. The ever present threat of terrorism in the United States places additional demands on our resources (staffing and equipment) so that we can be prepared for the worst. The Capitol Heights Metro Station is the only underground Metro Station in Prince George’s County.

In addition to emergency services the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department is involved on many things that improve the quality of life for the citizens we serve including our agressive fire prevention and life safety program as well as our citizen CPR program.

We have always been there when you needed our help. Now we need yours. Please help us continue to provide the best possible fire and emergency medical services to our citizens. We are asking for a donation from each residence and business in our primary response area. No donation is too small. Each donation will be greatly appreciated. Please donate what you can.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter or emergency medical technician, please stop by the station to obtain an application package. Please visit our website at www.chvfd.org to learn more about us.

Sincerely,

John Weaver
Fire Chief
Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department
