CHVFD Extras in Martial Arts Movie
Lifetime Members John Weaver and James McClelland participated in the making of “Honor and Glory,” a martial arts film originally titled “Zong heng tian xia” in Hong Kong. Portions of the film were shot in a warehouse in Upper Marlboro. The movie plot is based on FBI agent Tracy Pride on a mission to take down Jason Slade a businessman involved in extortion and murder. The movie ends with an all-out fight with law enforcement arriving on the scene led by then Prince George’s County Sheriff James Aluisi. An ambulance crew, played by John Weaver and James McClelland, rolls in with an ambulance cot and first aid kit to pick up the injured. At the Capitol Heights Volunteer Fire Department’s next annual banquet in 1994, Chief McClelland presented John Weaver with the “Weenie Award” from the (fake) Amateur Actors Guild for his role in the film. Tongue in cheek of course!
